WELLBEING RECALL & SUPPORT GROUP

Transition into motherhood is a joyful life event; for some women, however, it is marked by emotional turmoil. Lack of support can be associated with postpartum depression and can compromise both the mother and infant. Meaning, although, having a baby is usually a happy time in a family’s life. It can also be a stressful time no matter how much the mother loves her baby or how much she looked forward to the experience. Giving birth puts new mothers through a physical, mental, and emotional wringer, which can lead to exhaustion, sleep deprivation and lack of time for themselves.

At OLMC, we are a deeply mission-driven organization. At the core of everything we do is our desire to help people thrive. We are intentionally centered around relationships. We help every single person achieve their human potential with health and well-being solutions that make an impact.

Our Wellbeing Recall Support Group is necessary for each individual to thrive. We work with experts in their field to provide classes and programs to support five core pillars of wellbeing of mothers on:

  • Physical fitness

  • Emotional support

  • Mental health

  • Financial literacy

  • Medical wellbeing

The program gives us a simple way to engage and recognize immediate positive interactions. In a time of so much uncertainty and isolation, this is a wonderful community program, providing hope and energy to face what’s next. Most importantly, OLMC meets people where they are, at a moment in time and provides them something of value. With stress management, meditation, mindfulness, walking, stretching, strength,  and mental health classes, mothers can receive discreet support and helpful resources to care for themselves and their babies.

Our experts work with mothers to challenge and reframe negative thought patterns, helping them develop healthier coping mechanisms. We also provide a safe, confidential environment for mothers to express their fears and worries. For some, referral may be recommended as part of a comprehensive treatment plan. Group members also offer each other advice and reassurance, which can be incredibly comforting to a new mother feeling alone in her anxiety.

Our Social Support has been described as a three-dimensional construct consisting of Emotional Support (concern, comfort, and encouragement); Instrumental Support (money, time, and tangible assistance); and Informational Support where (advice, education, and knowledge) sharing takes place.
