EMPOWERING WOMEN TO SELF-SUFFICIENCY
OLMC’s goal achievement rate is a key tracking and accountability tool we use to measure the number of participants who achieve the goals they set forth in meetings with our volunteers.
While working through the Empowering Program, participants are matched with volunteer mentors who support the women to identify, set, and achieve goals they establish on their journey towards self-sufficiency.
Our program addresses the woman’s needs by investing in them power through many ways such as:
-
Informational training – Critical modules that include the value of women’s work, benefits of savings, basic health education, rights and decision making, and group formation.
-
Skill-building – Numeracy, business skills, and a chosen vocational skill
-
Resource Provision – Resources to pursue chosen vocations, and access to savings groups.
-
Connections to Networks – Shared support through local women’s networks and fostering connections with other women.
Together, women are healthier and stronger. They make their voices and opinions heard. They question unspoken beliefs and norms that hold women back. They have the power to transform our world, and gradually eradicate poverty.
